In Innovative `2-link` articulating gas arms, the channels are the 2 interlocking components which enclose the gas cylinder. Innovative`s unique arm design allows the channels to move against one another in a scissors motion as the monitor is raised and lowered, keeping the screen at a constant angle. In general, a mount is any product which allows the user to position a device in a particular location. In common Innovative usage, the mount is the component which affixes the arm to a surface. The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) is an industry organization which promotes standards in display technologies. VESA FPMI (Flat Panel Mounting Interface) is a standard which enables consistent attachment of displays to mounting mechanisms such as Innovative`s arms. This standard calls for a square hole patter of either 75mm or 100mm on the back of the monitor. Innovative`s VESA-compatible products include mounting plates which work with VESA monitors. Most modern LCD monitors follow the VESA standard, making it a simple task to mount your monitor.
